Description

Souzão also known as Vinhão or Tinto Nacional is a little-known varietal originally from Portugal and traditionally used in Port and dessert wines all over the world. Grown at large in the region of northern Minho and the Douro, this red wine grape variety that is responsible for the production of various red Vinho Verde wines. Its rich deep color and dried fruit taste give the wine an intense but fruity flavor profile.

Coming from the Paka vineyard in Brownfield, only a few wineries in the world use this grape for a dry red wine. This is Llano’s first ever Souzão we've produced and this High Plains fruit is sure to please your palate!

The style we made it in allows this wine to be more drinkable on its own. Grilled meats and vegetables would be would also be a great food pairing.
