2021 was a very productive vintage across the state of Texas due to favorable spring weather and ample heat throughout the growing season. This allowed the vines to yield a large crop of ripe grapes with intense flavor and structure. Our Merlot reflects the terroir of West Texas with the grapes sourced for this wine coming from several prominent sites including the Paka and Dell Valley Vineyard.
Our 2021 Merlot is composed of 82% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 1% Tannat. We recommend drinking this fruit forward wine now or bottle age over the next 2-3 years to evolve the bouquet and complexity of the wine.
Serve this medium bodied Merlot at cool temperature (57-64 F) with grilled portabella mushrooms, roasted duck or turkey, lamb kabobs, steak fajitas, and most aged cheese.
