This wine celebrates the “field blend” method of winemaking typically found in parts of France, Italy, and Portugal. As the name suggests, the fruit is sourced from a single vineyard or field of different varieties of grapes that are grown, harvested, and vinified together—the blending is done in the vineyard, not in the winery. The blend for our release is something typically found in the older vineyards of Northern California’s Sonoma Valley- a blend of Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet, and Petite Sirah. This harmonious blend reveals aromatics of red berry jam, black pepper, oak spice, with rich but smooth tannins and a lengthy finish.
This wine pairs best with BBQ pork and beef, pizza, and anything off the grill including smoky vegetables.
