Riesling is a grape native to the Rheingau region of Germany and is one of the world’s greatest white wine grapes, capable of making particularly geographically expressive and long-lived wines at all sweetness levels. The earliest mention of the grape dates back to 1435!
Riesling somehow thrives in this high desert climate of the Dell Valley Vineyard. Both yields and quality are high and unexpected given the "non-native" climate for this variety. This is the first "trocken" (German for "dry", meaning less than 5g/L residual sugar) Riesling Llano has ever produced.
